The most noteworthy artistic ensemble in the village is the Town Square (Plaza Mayor), one of the most beautiful ones in the entire province. It stands out for the architectonical structure of the layered monuments, the Council House, the Palace and the Church, resulting in a balance of harmony.

On the lower level, you can find the old Council House (Concejo) that was built in the 15th century.

After that you can see the Palace, a building that was asked to be built in the 16th century by Juan Hurtado de Mendoza and his wife Leonor del Río. On the ashlar façade there is an ornament that frames the family badge: Mendoza – Ríos y Salcedo. Currently, the building is restored and is the central office for the Provincial Folk Costume Museum (Museo Provincial del Traje Popular).

Taking a look at the square from up above, you can see the tower of the church Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, one of the most spectacular examples of the Sorian Plateresque style from the 15th and 16th century.

In the middle of the square, defining the steps and declaring the towns jurisdictional rights is the pillory (Rollo), dating back to the 16th century.

Here you can also enjoy your day at a 9-hole golf course designed by Manuel Piñero.
