Bretún

Bretún is an excellent ensemble of traditional architecture placed on steep streets. The colour of the land and sky are what characterise this black and blue village with an old mill, stone washhouse, small chapels, a Gothic church and rocks that were once silt.

Not only around the village, but also in the town centre, there are many dinosaur prints known as icnitas. There is a massive dinosaur replica of a Triceratops, and among the many sites, you can visit La Matecasa which is located at the entrance of the village, El Corral de la Peña, El Frontal and Fuente Lacorte.

The Gothic church dedicated to San Pedro Apóstol was built in the 16th century. It only consists of one nave, and the Gothic sanctuary, which has been recently restored, has curious unique Aztec motifs on the dome. It is possible that these motifs were influenced by an immigrant who returned from America (known as indiano). Other buildings you can see are the chapels of Santo Cristo and Santa Cristina.
