Celtiberian Soria

The province of Soria is located where an important part of the land where Celtiberians lived for many years. They left behind traces of their civilisations that can be visited at any of the Celtiberian-Roman archaeological sites throughout the province.

 

Thanks to classical historians, it is known that there were many Celtiberian cities that were invaded by the Romans.

 

The Roman domain began with the Celtiberian Wars (153 – 133 B.C.E.) during which the Arevaci played an important role due to the fact that they were in control of many Celtiberian cities such as the resistant Numantia, as well as Uxama and Tiermes.
