Valonsadero (Soria)

Archaeological site since June 30th, 1994.

This hill is located about 7 kilometres away from the capital and it is home to an archaeological site of Palaeolithic cave art. The cave art was discovered by accident in 1951, they represent the daily life of the people who once lived here. These interesting images were painted with reddish tones and you can see them scattered throughout 31 shallow caves in the area. The people who painted them used the irregular surface of the rocks to create a feeling of dimension and depth. These cave paintings were declared Heritage of Cultural Interest in 1985.
