La Galiana Cave (Cañón del Río Lobos)

Heritage of Cultural Interest since 1985.

Near Ucero, inside the Karst landscape of Cañón del Río Lobos, a Natural Park since 1985, is La Galiana Cave. You can reach it by entering the park towards Mirador de la Galiana (a lookout). This cave is the perfect opportunity to start in speleology. Climb from the road up to the opening of the cave protected by a gate. It is one of the only caves that can be visited by tourists out of the more than 300 systems, galleries or peaks in this area. The path is quite simple and begins in the Dormitory where you pass by stalactites and stalagmite to reach Sala del Lago. After this you will reach Sala de los Gours and Sala del Bosque where the maximum height is of 15 metres. At the end is Gran Vía where there is a fork in the path that lead to many dark galleries where the tour ends. This route lasts about three hours where you pass through 2 km of the 3-km long cave and is fit for anyone with basic equipment.
