Ciria Castle

This 10th-century Arabic castle was built over a smaller previous one with stonework that adapts perfectly to the land. There aren’t any towers attached to the eleven walls, one of which still contains the access gate. It is the perfect example of fortresses that adapt to their environment. Being that it is placed on a rock, both the floor plan and the height of the walls are quite irregular due to the abrupt terrain. On the west side there is a cliff that stands 50 metres high which was used as a natural defensive system. The walls are in very good shape and there are still more than thirty battlement hexes. This strategic location let knights have control over the Manubles river that opens the land to Almenar and Borobia.
