Church of Saint Michael the Archangel (Cidones)

The church has been in the middle of the village since the 18th century, built in stone and reinforced with ashlar on the corner, around the windows and on the upper part of the tower.

It has a Latin cross floor plan with only one nave topped off with a dome with lunettes and a dome over spandrels in the transept.

The walls are decorated with Renaissance-style and Baroque altarpieces, and the Baroque major altarpiece is dedicated to the Patron Saint.

A modern portico over chamfered pillars protects the southern entryway which is shaped by a rounded arch over bush-hammered jambs.

At the end of the church, there is a massive tower divided into three sections, the bottom one of stonework and the upper two of ashlar, where there are rounded double openings on each gable which accommodate the bells.
