Cathedral Museum (El Burgo de Osma)

In the Cathedral Square, there is a museum where you can see a wide collection of paintings ranging from the 12th to the 18th century, such as the Hispanic-Flemish “Altarpiece of San Ildefonso” or works of art by Master Maella. Other paintings you can see are “Virgen de los Ángeles” by Maestro de Osma from the 15th century, tableaus of Rubielos and 15th-century paintings by Maella Arqueta of Mozarabic rubies.

There are nine exhibit rooms with about 240 works of art: San Pedro de Osma Tomb Room; San Ildefonso Room (where you can see objects related to the bishop); Column Room (which is now the Museum of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles) where you can see a collection of gold work and different tableaus; and the Transfiguration Room. There is an exhibit with ornaments, codices, such as the “Beato” from 1086, documents, choir books and crosses. There are also many carvings by Juan de Juni, Berruguete, Sebastián Fernández and Andrés de Nájera.
