Casa de la Media Naranja (Narros)

Heritage of Cultural Interest since 1996.

This manor house is a unique example of 18th-century Sorian civil architecture. It was built in 1750 with a rectangular floor plan with an indoor courtyard and a big garden in the back. This mansion is divided into two floors separated on all the façades by crown moulding that extends without interruption on the balconies only changing its direction in order to frame the great coat of arms that crowns the main entrance. The main façade is made up of beautifully crafted harmonious ashlar masonry around the doors and windows, and on three of the corners, being the rest made of stone. The main entrance is decorated by an arch with curved moulding, broken up in the centre where it goes down to form a rectangle. Above it, you can see the magnificent coat of arms with a lean window that surpasses it. On either side of the door on the bottom floor there are two barred windows finished off with details similar to the door and on the upper floor, there are two balconies, with the same finishes, and a magnificent forged iron structure original to its first construction. In the centre of the palace, there is a quadrangular watchtower with two bell-shaped oculi on each side that illuminate the dome inside that covers the central courtyard.
