Maján, located at 1,145 metres high, is by far one of the highest villages in the área. It is located on a plateau with beautiful landscapes that divides the Douro and Ebro rivers, although, the village is in the Iberian part.

Among its flora are oak and holm oak groves, riverbank woodland with different varieties of poplar, as well as aromatic plants such as lavender, savoury or thyme. Among this vegetation roam wild boars, hares, partridges and roe deer. Maján’s sky is crossed every year by doves that migrate to Andalucía.

In Maján you can find the church called Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción which was remodelled in 1781 and stands out for the Romanesque art that can be seen on the portico.
